Loving is never an easy thing.

Entrusting your heart to someone is not as sweet sounding as it seems on Disney.

You may very well have to put up with in-laws who don’t like you, a partner who is incredibly supportive but not so good in the sack or, you may have to contend with a slightly unhinged ex-lover or baby daddy or mamma who wants your head on a spike.

But maybe the connection is worth fighting for as some things are not easily lost.

When that spark begins to fade, however, you might need to get creative in terms of restoring the inferno of infatuation.

So how about a sip and camp aimed at doing just that?

“Our theme is ‘military love,’ and our vibe is fun and games whilst we touch on sensitive issues about love, sex and marriage,” says John Thato Sithole who is hosting a couples retreat at Roodeplaat Dam. The aim is to revive relationships and marriages.

“With our individual experience across the board, relationships and marriage nowadays lack longevity, in which when we share our stories amongst each other we learn that as a generation we no longer have principles and have lost morals.

“The aim is to reinstall and reinforce this in the current generation so that we aid the upcoming generation to last longer in their relationships and marriages.”

To most of us, the sipping part of this equation might sound the most enticing than camping but perhaps the hardship of outdoor living can help heal a dented connection.

“We are hoping to restore and revive relationships and marriages and make it known to our crowd that it's ok to speak about sex and understand each other's sexual satisfaction and frustrations.”

The sentiment is genuine and to drum up hype John has also made sure to invite a few popular TikTokers like Mr Nothing Hectic, Soso, Nonku, Thabo Maker, Tsakani Sono, and a couple of others.

In and among the sipping and camping conversations around sex and intimacy that will be held along with games and some surprises to keep the couples entertained. They will also have therapists on hand to ensure real work is done in terms of excavating emotions and airing out issues.

If you’re looking to fight for your love, then wrestling camping equipment might not sound so alluring.

“There is a designated camping area and no you don't have to bring a camping tent we offer you a camping tent, with all the necessary needs at the fee stipulated on the poster.”

The weekend experience is from April 26 to 28 and every moment will be captured by a dedicated team of videographers and camera operator, “but you are more than welcome to also capture and create your private memories".

“More than anything we aim to achieve the best results in reviving love languages and life lessons when it comes to relationships and marriages.”
