Big-up to Nkosinathi Maphumulo for winning his first-ever Grammy Award.
Nkosinathi, better known as DJ Black Coffee, has won an award in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category for his album, Subconsciously, at the 64th Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, USA.
It’s the first time that a South African artist has won a Grammy in this category.
What great news for the country, his family, friends and the other artists featured on the song.
It was good to see everyone drinking black coffee on Monday morning, 4 April, to celebrate the artist’s achievement.
Black Coffee follows in the footsteps of multi-award-winning groups, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Soweto Gospel Choir, who have also won Grammys.
