The new Showmax has landed! Here’s how to get the hotly anticipated new Showmax app.
Existing Showmax customers will receive an email with instructions on how to upgrade to the new Showmax app.
Until you receive the email, keep streaming as usual.
How do I get the new app?
I’m an existing subscriber
Wait for an email from Showmax telling you that your account has been moved to the new Showmax.
- You’ll also know you’ve been migrated when you open your existing Showmax app, as it’ll prompt you to download the new app.
- Follow the link in the email, or on your screen, and download the new app on your device. Your account details haven’t changed. If you don’t remember your username, you can find it in the My Account section on showmax.com.
- If you’ve forgotten your password, click the Forgot Password button and a password reset link will be sent to you.
- Set up your new profiles - up to six - and you’re ready to start streaming. It’s that simple.
If your account hasn’t yet been moved to the new Showmax, you won’t be able to upgrade to the new app. We know you’re as excited as we are to check it out - don’t worry, we’ll get to you.
How do I download the Showmax app on my mobile devices?
Launch the App Store, Google Play or Huawei App Store on your device.
- Search for Showmax. Make sure to pick the new app with the X icon, and not Showmax 1.0.
- Instal the free Showmax app that appears in the search results.
- Log in with your Showmax account to enjoy seamless streaming and downloading.

How do I download the Showmax app on my smart TV?
If you already have Showmax downloaded on your smart TV, click on the icon and follow the link provided.
Otherwise, go to your app store on your smart TV and search for Showmax.
Instal the free Showmax app that appears in the search results.
Log in with your existing Showmax account to enjoy seamless streaming and downloading.

I’m a new subscriber
Go to the Showmax website and create a Showmax account. You’ll need to create an account on the web before you sign in on another device.
- Go to the app store on your mobile device or smart TV, and search for Showmax. Make sure you download the new Showmax app (not Showmax 1.0).
- Follow the prompts to sign in.
- Set up your new profiles, and start scrolling through the catalogue to find the content you love.
