KUPPE Banda, a traditional healer who fought many good and evil battles, thought he had seen everything.
But this stubborn tokoloshe has attacked his car and even burnt his indumba to the ground.

For years, Banda has been fixing problems, digging up muthi in the yards of his clients and helping them sleep peacefully at night. But on 24 August, he met his match when he went to help a client in Seshego, Limpopo.
Banda, from Hammanskraal, told Daily Sun he had never experienced such a stubborn tokoloshe.
He said early on Thursday, 25 August, he was going back home when the left front tyre of his car blew up near Marble Hall in Limpopo. He said that showed him the power of the tokoloshe. He changed the tyre and drove home.
But while he was preparing muthi to destroy the creature, suddenly his indumba was on fire and he had to put out the flames. “The muthi and the tokoloshe I took out from that yard were deadly. Many healers had failed to take it out. That tokoloshe needed a strong sangoma and it almost cost me my life,” he said.
“I am happy that even though I lost my indumba, I managed to help the family,” he said.
He said he was grateful to amadlozi who protected him.
Traditional healer Majoko Hlongwane said Banda must keep the peace with his ancestors so they could always protect him. Banda said he brought the tokoloshe with him to make sure it didn’t resurface.
Daily Sun spoke to the owner of the house where Banda went to fight the tokoloshe.
Lesetja Manase (39) said he had been victimised by a creature for almost five years and the family was always fighting.
“We heard that the creature which was removed is the cause of the fire that burnt his indumba. We believe that because our house once caught fire. It means that creature works with fire,” he said.
Lesetja said since Banda removed the creature and muthi there had been peace between him and his wife.
City of Tshwane Emergency Services spokesman deputy chief Charles Mabaso said: “Tshwane Emergency Services were informed of the fire on 25 August. The cause of the fire is not known yet. The fire was extinguished prior to our arrival.”
