“THE people who shot and killed four men and a woman in Khayelitsha are wild animals!”
This was according to Police Minister Bheki Cele.
“They must be found and dealt with,” he said while visiting the New Monwabisi Park area, where five people were murdered in a shack on Monday.
Cele said the killers were heartless to kill a naked woman at her boyfriend’s place.
“The girl knew nothing. She was just at her boyfriend’s house. They came and shot her in front of her boyfriend while she was naked.”
He said provincial commissioner Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile told him that he had the names of the suspects.

“The suspects who killed these people are animals, therefore Patekile, your team must move fast and arrest them. We want people to see the animals that did this,” said Cele.
The South African National Civic Organisation’s Sinethemba Mtini said they were used to seeing dead bodies, but the murder of five people shocked them.
“Bodies are dumped in our area because we don’t have electricity.

“People get robbed at night and sometimes cops don’t come because they fear for their own safety,” said Mtini.
Cele promised residents to come back and patrol in order to apprehend people terrorising them. He also said they would hunt for illegal guns.
“We will come at night. We will come in peace but if you want a fight and bring it, we won’t run away. People who did this were in a group that discussed how they would kill them. The hand of the law must respond decisively,” said the minister.
