FOUR people have been taken in for questioning in connection with the disappearance of six-year-old Joslin Smith from Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.
Residents alleged that four people were taken by cops on Tuesday night, 5 March.
A resident who claims to be close to the situation said the four were taken in for questioning after a certain man “confessed” about the whereabouts of the young girl.
“The issue was weighing heavy on him. That's why he decided to confess to the cops. All four people taken by cops have not returned since last night and we believe they're under arrest,” she said.
Western Cape police spokeswoman Brigadier Novela Potelwa confirmed that four people have been bust.
“It's envisaged that as the investigation unfolds, light will be shed to her whereabouts or what happened to her. The four people being interviewed by the team of investigators are two men and two women aged between 26 and 34. With the investigation gaining momentum, arrests are on the cards,” said Potelwa.

Over the weekend, cops discovered a bag with bloody clothes in Diazville, not far from the house of the missing girl. The clothes were taken to the laboratory for tests to be conducted.
Residents, cops and various organisations have been searching for Joslin, who went missing in Diazville, Saldanha Bay on Monday, 19 February.
According to Joslin's mother, Kelly Smith (33), the grade 1 at Diazville Primary School had not attended school on the day she went missing as she was unwell.
Her mum had left her in the care of her boyfriend, Jacquin Appollis when she went to work. When she returned, both the boyfriend and Joslin were not home.
Jacquin later returned without the child, saying he didn't know where she was. The mother opened a missing persons case at the cop shop at about 10pm on the same day.
