FROM the ANC pledging its stance on the Palestine Israel conflict to the police making a whooping discovery in the Western Cape, the weekend was full of exciting events.
A pilot and a passenger were killed after a Cruiser Homebuilt Fixed-wing aircraft they were flying in crashed at Springs Airfield in Ekurhuleni on Saturday, 14 October.
It is said that the aircraft was departing the airfield and intended to return to the same airstrip when the unfortunate incident happened.
Investigations into the matter are expected to take 30 days before the release of the preliminary report.
The funeral service of the slain Prophet Dwayne Gordon was held on Saturday, 14 October in Randfontein. The prophet was shot dead, while three churchgoers were injured when six gunmen stormed into a church in Newlands, Joburg on Friday, 6 October.
Since the gruesome murder, City of Joburg speaker, Colleen Makhubele said: "We need to find our way of walking with God in a worthy manner again. What is happening in our communities needs more than just our prayers, but our hand to act collectively."

In the meantime, Western Cape police are investigating a double murder case after two people were shot and killed at Kleinberg Road in Bishop Lavis on Friday, 13 October.
Staying on Western Cape news, safer festive season operations got underway on Saturday with the police seizing R75 million worth of counterfeit goods and R200 000 in cash from a shopping centre in Bellville, Cape Town.
The counterfeit goods raid, which was led by the SAPS, formed part of the authorities' efforts to root out criminal activities during the festive season in the province.

Bringing things back to Gauteng, Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga sent messages of condolences to the families and victims of an accident that occurred on the N4 near Middleburg, towards Pretoria on Friday.
Seven people died during the tragic collision involving a minibus and two vehicles. The minibus overturned, resulting in the loss of lives and left one person in critical condition and another with serious injuries.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has come out to confirm the country's stance on the conflict between Palestine and Israel.
Lastly, it seems the Springboks are one step closer to defending their title as world champions after they won 29-28 against France in the 2023 Rugby World Cup on Sunday, 15 October.
