THE death of long-time serving Zulu Monarch Traditional Prime Minister and IFP founder Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi took centre stage this weekend.
Buthelezi's in and out routine check-ups at the hospital kept the hearts of many racing as his health was a big concern, but the prince always found a way to bounce back. However, this was not the case on Saturday, 9 September as the sun set for the honourable prince.
He died on a big day in the Zulu nation, the annual Reed Dance Festival at the Enyokeni Royal Palace in Nongoma.

His death saw the reed dance festival also being cancelled. Participants of the festival were then urged to return to their respective homes to pay respect and honour to the late prince.
In other news, the ANC is "willing to re-establish its connection with society and demonstrate its willingness to listen to criticism and feedback".
So said the party on Saturday for the 2019 ANC Manifesto in Limpopo, which saw the presence of ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula among many others.

The day started with the handover of a newly built house to the Mkhabela family in Gadlanani Village fitted with all the basics.
Still on ruling party news, ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile attended the 79th anniversary celebration rally of the ANC Youth League (ANCYL), which was held at KameelRiver B Stadium in Mpumalanga on Sunday, September 10.
In court and government news, one would anticipate a rather anxious filled weekend as Dr Nandipha Magudumana is expected to get the verdict on her bail application in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Monday, 11 September.
This day will also see the National Assembly convene to vote on the Section 194 inquiry report that found that suspended Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane was not fit for office.

Emily Nonyane (48) was laid to rest at Lotus Gardens cemetery in Tshwane on Saturday, 9 September. She was found murdered at an RDP house in Lotus Gardens with her friend, Tidimalo Marokane (42) on Wednesday, 30 August.
The man accused of killing the two women was allegedly apprehended and set alight in a mob justice incident in Atteridgeville. His identity is yet to be confirmed as the body was burnt beyond recognition.
The matter is still under investigation.
