EMILY Nonyane (48) was laid to rest at Lotus Gardens cemetery in Tshwane on Saturday, 9 September 2023.
Emily was found murdered at an RDP house in Lotus Gardens with her friend, Tidimalo Marokane (42) on 30 August 2023.
During the funeral her uncle Jan Chiloane wished for her soul to rest in peace.
"This is painful but we'll leave everything to God," he said.

Mourners described her death as an unfortunate situation. Neighbour Matsobane Kapu said she was a good neighbour.
"We were worried when we didn't see her, but we thought she was still at a funeral," he said.
ANC woman's league representative at Ward 7, Bafedile Dlamini said: "We don't know what men want from women and children."
She appealed to the nation for the protection of women and children.
"Throughout her life, she was a wonderful person. She was consistant. Whenever tragedy hits us, it leaves us confused. We are heartbroken, but we will continue supporting the family," she added.
Family member Alina Ntuli said Emily's son, Enock Nonyane is not alone and would not become an orphan as they would continue supporting him as a family.
Gloria Mkhanda advised mourners that when they have a partner and he raises his voice at them, they should run away.
"There are cases where men kill women. The man killed two women during women's month," she said.
She added when you experience gender based violence you should report it to the police. She included men too by saying if they too are being abused by their partners, they should report it to cops.
Sphiwe Khumalo co-founder of Lotus Gardens Patrollers (CPF) said their leaders attended the scene.
"We are still traumatised by what we saw. Let's stand up," she said.
Mourners called for unity in the fight against gender based violence. They said women must stop keeping quiet if they are abused.
Tidimalo, who was murdered with Emily, was buried on Wednesday, 6 September at Lotus Gardens cemetery.
