IT'S been nine years of tears for loyal Kaizer Chiefs supporters, and the recent Soweto derby added nothing but salt to an already wounded pride.

The team has become a laughingstock in soccer corridors, with some wondering whether the players and management are serious about the game.

Some on social media people have compared Chiefs to a loyal partner who will turn a blind eye to their partner’s roaming eye. Loyal Kaizer Chiefs supporters have defended their team by naming years of success to boldly declare that it is for the love of the team.

It's estimated that Kaizer Chiefs has over 15 to 20 million supporters in Mzansi.

But these figures have not been confirmed by the Glamour Boys management.

With support from neighbouring countries such as Botswana, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, and Zambia, the club’s loyal support could be over 100 million.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys have never won silverware since 2015 under the stewardship of Stuart Baxter.

The team has had eight coaches in about five years.

Coach Cavin Johnson has been tasked with coaching the Love and Peace Boys following the sacking of Molefi Ntseki. Under Johnson, the team has been blowing hot and cold.
