FORMER President Jacob Zuma is studying the judgment granted to VBS to compel the former statesman to pay back the money for the controversial ‘security’ upgrades done at his Nkandla home.

In 2016 Zuma asked VBS for R7.8million to pay back for the non-security upgrades that were done.

On Tuesday, Jacob Zuma Foundation spokesman Mzwanele Manyi said they are aware of the Pietermaritzburg High court judgment on Tuesday, 30 August and they will be studying it and there will not be any response from them for now.

The court granted VBS an order to seize some of Zuma's Nkandla assets to recover the money owed to them.

He said: “President Jacob Zuma and the foundation are aware of what happened in court between the VBS liquidator vs Zuma.

“At this point, the foundation and president Zuma are studying the Judgement and obviously, we will consult legal counsel before anything else happens.

“If that interaction, if deemed necessary to issue a statement, that will happen.

“I just want to make it clear that between now and then, there will be no response from the foundation or President Zuma.”
