HE was about to get on a taxi when a bus and an SUV collided in front of him.

So, the man abandoned the taxi and rushed to help the driver of the SUV, who was trapped inside the vehicle.

After helping the trapped driver, the good Samaritan even stood by him and told him to hold on as help was coming.

But as soon as the ambulance arrived, the good Samaritan boarded a taxi and left the scene.

Thabo Makalanyane (44), who witnessed the accident, said the good Samaritan didn't claim any glory.

He said the man stood on the side of the road on the R82 road in Vereeniging on Monday morning, 26 February waiting to catch a taxi when a bus collided with a Hyundai Tucson.
