Members of the South African Communist Party and COSATU in Mpumalanga marched to toll gates in the province calling for TRAC to scrap high toll fees.
The provincial secretary of SACP, Lucky Mbuyane, said the march is aimed at raising the concerns of road users admits the extreme economic downturn and high levels of unemployment.
He said this is to express their anger and frustrations on behalf of the millions of workers and ordinary people against the horrifying conditions, exorbitant toll fees on both the N17 and N4 toll roads.
"These protest are informed by the failure of the TRAC management to find time to meet with us as we were hoping to reach a common understanding with them.

This deliberate refusal proves to us that this company does not care about the plight of the people and they are hell-bent on putting profits before the people," Mbuyane said
Mbuyane said they are disappointed at the lack of care, support, and protection of fellow workers despite sending several letters to TRAC.
"We are aware of the fact that our system is crippled by both the structural influences of a state not investing in the needs of society and workers and is always eager to satisfy the profits craziness of the market and rich few," he said
Motorists were able to pass toll gates without any threats.
The memorandum was received by Portia Mathebula who promised to hand it over to the relevant people.
