PHUTHADITJHABA Magistrates Court in the Free State was full on Wednesday, 13 December, during the court appearance of two accused who allegedly slaughtered Sello Morobe (25) and threw his head in the river.

The courtroom had family members and a concerned community during the court proceedings since the commencement of the case.

The accused, Thandaza Radebe (28) and Thabiso Mosola(18), who were security guards at a tavern where the deceased was last seen, are facing charges of murder and kidnapping.

The deceased family pointed fingers at Justice for regular postponement of the case.

The deceased's sister and family spokeswoman Matshediso Morobe said: "We want to close the chapter of attending court every week. Whenever we see the accused in the dock, our hearts get angered. This is an indirect punishment. The case has been postponed several times. Our son was murdered at an early age. The accused voluntarily took the cops where they threw the deceased's head. We want to see the accused rot in jail.”

The headless body of the deceased was recovered at Masimong Village in early June.

The family had to wait a month before burying the mutilated body of Sello.

The case has been postponed to 8 February 2024 for investigations.
