PHUMUDZO Nemutudi (27) and Thompho Mudau (25), who are facing charges of allegedly raping an 18-year-old teenager, have abandoned their bail application.
They appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrates Court on Monday, 3 July.
Their arrest follows an incident that happened on Friday, 16 June, when the young victim was abducted at Mbilwi in Sibasa, Limpopo.
The suspects also demanded a ransom of R2 million from the victim's parents. They are also facing charges of kidnapping, car hijacking, and aggravated robbery.
It's alleged that the teenager was kidnapped while on his way home from buying bread at a local shop.
He was rescued on Sunday, 18 June, at a house in Ngovhela by the police, who were tracing a stolen vehicle. The suspects managed to escape by jumping over a wall.

The suspects later turned themselves in to the police after being pressured by their families.
"We welcome the court's decision to postpone the case to a later date, and we have no objection as long as they are kept in cells. We have also closed our shops to show maximum support for the family," said a community leader.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokeswoman, Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, said the case was postponed to Friday, 8 September, for further investigations, and both suspects remain in custody.
