A 43-YEAR-OLD- woman from Tshwane was arrested on Friday, 26 May, for hiring a hitman to allegedly kill her aunt.

"The woman, who had agreed to pay R20 000 for her aunt's life, had already deposited half the amount to an undercover police officer when she was arrested at her home in Pretoria. She had agreed to an arrangement whereby the balance would be paid after the job was completed," Netshiunda said.

During the investigation, the aunt, who lives in Verulam in KZN, was placed under witness protection for maximum safety.

Police are also closing in on suspect's sister, whose role in the conspiracy was to provide the alleged hit man with the photo for the target of the attack.

The suspect will appear in court soon.
