RESIDENTS have vowed not to vote in this year’s elections until they get the services they demand from the municipality.
The angry community said they want electricity and water in their kasi.
Residents of Refiloe in ward 10 in Cullinan, Tshwane, began protesting on Monday, 8 January, vowing to continue until their demands are met.
According to the residents, who were moved to the area from various informal settlements in 2016, they're tired of waiting.
The leader of the community, Naniki Khanya, said that when they were moved, the municipality had allegedly promised to connect them to electricity and water supply, but nothing happened.

She said more than a thousand residents have been affected.
"We're demanding electricity and tap water because we're tired of being supplied only with tank water and sometimes not getting water at all. We'll continue to protest until we get the services," she said.
She claimed that no one from the municipality has bothered to look into their complaints.
"We feel dumped and neglected," she said.
Resident John Nkosi said it was bad and they were tired of living like this.
"We are not going to vote until we get services, and we are fed up with empty promises," he said.
Residents said they can't continue living in such bad conditions, especially in a formalised area.
City of Tshwane spokesman Lindela Mashigo said the city was in the process of delivering services in all formalised areas.
