THUGS shot dead a Gauteng traffic police officer in Tshwane.
According to Gauteng Traffic Police spokesman Sello Maremane, Provincial Inspector Clarence Tlou Kgomo (44) was shot and killed near Saulsville Hostel in Tshwane on Saturday, 9 March.
He was stationed at the regional office in Pretoria.
"The assailants are still at large, and the officer's service gun has disappeared. The motive for the killing is not yet known," he said.
Maremane said the loss of a police officer was a setback in the fight against crime.
"A law enforcer is a symbol of peace for the community and a shadow for community protection. We must not be intimidated by the ruthless and heartless criminals who continue to terrorise our community," he said.
