BENJAMIN Mafora, whose son Lethabo Sibanda (18) was brutally killed at Rustenburg Bus Rank on Friday, 2 June, is praying for justice.
The dad, whose son was a pupil at Hoër Tegniese Skool Rustenburg, said he lacked confidence in the justice system.
This after the murder case against the 19-year-old who was arrested for allegedly stabbing Lethabo to death was transferred to the Regional Court by the Rustenburg Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 6 December.
The case was postponed to 10 January for trial.
Benjamin said they were relieved to see there was progress now that the investigation was complete, and the case was transferred.
He said if the accused could get a lengthy sentence, that would restore their hope and trust in the law.

“Our hearts still bleed for our son. He was still very young, and we have high expectations from him.”
The state said the investigations were complete, and the case was ready for trial.
The accused remains in custody until his next court appearance.
He was denied bail in July when the state successfully opposed it.
Magistrate Hendrick Van Wyk, during the formal bail application proceedings, said the reasons stated by the applicant during his application didn't prove why it was in the best interest of justice that he be granted bail.
“The court is of the belief that the state has a strong case against the accused. The applicant didn't prove on a balance of probability that exceptional circumstances exist,” Van Wyk said.
