EVIDENCE presented in court on Wednesday, 17 April, has linked all five accused in the murder case of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa in the North Gauteng High Court.

Data Analyst Lieutenant-Colonel Gideon Gouws told the court that when he downloaded the data from the cellphone of accused two, Bongani Ntanzi, it was established that all five men were linked to one number saved on the device.

“There were no contacts on the MTN SIM card. The Vodacom SIM card contacts were put on a Microsoft Excel sheet. There were two numbers linked to the other accused. There was a number linked to Muzi Sibiya, accused number one. The number of Fisokuhle Ntuli, accused number five, was saved on the SIM card,” he said.

He said the other number was saved as Lungisani.

“That number had lots of communication with other accused. It shows there was communication between all the accused before the court. These are all the numbers which show there was communication vice versa.”

He said he saved the number that was identified by his predecessor, Colonel Lambertus Steyn.

“I took the number which was saved that was identified by Colonel Steyn's investigation. There was communication between Ntuli and Ntanzi. There was communication with Mthokoziseni Maphisa (communication with Mthobisi Mncube (accused three) and Muzi Sibiya (accused one).

“According to this evidence, it shows there was communication between Ntanzi and all the other accused. A number of Muzi Sibiya was saved on one of the SIM cards as Muzi. It was identified through True Caller, the time he was arrested in Tembisa and after the Section 205 application was made,” he said.

Gouws also said there were pictures of Sibiya and a newspaper article about the case on the phone.

“On the memory card, there was a picture of Ntanzi taken on 20 November 2020. There is also a photo taken on 30 March 2020, taken with the Samsung,” he said.

Gouws goes through other pictures.

On the Ntanzi's memory card, Gouws says there was a photo of a newspaper article taken on 29 October 2020 of this current case.

He also added there was a picture of a gun on the phone.

Gouws also checked the data from Ntuli, where he found communications with the other two accused, Maphisa and Mncube.
