THE Springboks ended their Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour in East London with jaw-dropping scenes when a fan tried to kiss team captain Siya Kolisi.

The footage of the woman pouncing on the Boks captain has since gone viral on social media.

On Sunday, 5 November, the Springboks touched down in East London for the final leg of the Webb Ellis Trophy Tour, where they were met scores of supporters.

The scenes of excitement were evident, not only in East London but throughout the past three days as the Boks engaged with fans in Gauteng on Thursday, Western Cape on Friday, and KZN on Saturday.

This footage later created waves on social media, with one user alluding that this was sexual assault.

Another user commended Siya for his composed response, saying, "Siya responded like a true gentleman and proved once and for all why he is the two-time world cup-winning champion captain of SA. Power to you, Siya."

Meanwhile, actor, comedian and presenter Sivuyile Ngesi, who was disgusted by the woman's actions, took to Instagram to voice his thoughts and said: "She's lucky Rachel wasn’t there! #disgusting."

As the Boks concluded their tour on Sunday, 5 November, most teammates were not present during the tour.

Among those was Faf De Klerk, who later took to Instagram to apologise for not showing up as he had to attend a funeral.

The SA Rugby's media operations co-ordinator, Lindiwe Nkosi, however did confirm to News24 that some of the players could not complete the four-day tour due to personal issues, club commitments and injuries.
