THE OR Tambo International Airport arrival section was a hive of activities as thousands of South Africans gathered to give rugby World champions, Springboks' a hero's welcome on Tuesday, 31 October.
South Africa beat New Zealand 11 - 12 in a thrilling match at the Stade de France on Saturday, 28 October.
The tense battle saw New Zealand reduced to 14-players early on as their captain, Sam Cane, saw his yellow card upgraded to a red card in the first half of the game.
The airport's arrival area was filled with singing, dancing, and joyful ululations, accompanied by the sound of vuvuzelas, as fans waited for the arrival of their heroes.
Musa Dladla from Katlehong in Ekurhuleni said the team has made Mzansi proud.

Jimmy Motlokwa from Botlokwa in Limpopo said sport plays a key role in uniting people.
"Look around here. All the people from all walks of life are united in celebrating the victory of Springboks.
"We're the champions, thanks to the players, the technical team which consists of coaching team, medical team and everyone who was working behind the scenes to ensure we keeps the Webb Ellis Cup trophy," said Jimmy.
