CAPE TOWN cops have launched a manhunt for gunmen after three men were shot and killed in Mfuleni.
Six gunmen ambushed the men while they were sitting in their car in New Beginnings.
Residents from the area who spoke to Daily Sun said they heard several gunshots at about 2.55pm.
“I didn’t even try to peep through the window because the gunshots were intense. I think over 30 gunshots went off. It was hectic,” said a resident.
Residents said two of the deceased are known as they are from the area, but the other man is unknown.
The 45-year-old resident said that she feared his two teenage sons were on the street when the gunshots went off.
“Immediately after the gunshots stopped, I ran out to check what happened. Fortunately, I saw my children walking with other people going to the scene to check what had transpired,” she said.
Police spokesman Colonel Andre Traut said cops are busy hunting for the killers.

On Saturday, 29 September, five other people, including a cop, Warrant Officer Lindila Mraqisa, and a bodyguard of deputy police minister Cassel Mathale, were killed.
