Scrapyard owners bust for tsotsi’s murder

accreditation

A THUG who was caught stealing from a scrapyard paid with his life after he was beaten to death allegedly by the two scrapyard owners and members of the community.

The scrapyard owners have now been bust.

Ivory Park cop shop’s station commander Brigadier Mbongeni Ngcobo has welcomed the swift arrest of the two men for murder.

Ngcobo said mob killings should never be tolerated as everybody has the opportunity to work with the police at any time of the day.

“The two suspects had an opportunity to call the police after they found the suspect, who is now deceased, stealing in their scrapyard but opted to take the law into their own hands,” said Ngcobo.

The two men, aged 29 and 33, will face a murder charge in the Tembisa Magistrates Court.

Ngcobo has assured the community that the police are looking forward to working with them especially this festive season.

A draft proposal that will curb the activities of scrapyards was submitted in August.
