LIFE has been hell for a 62-year-old gogo living with her 16-year-old son in Palm Ridge, Ekurhuleni.
From one bottle to another, gogo has chosen to drown her sorrows in alcohol while praying to God to take her life.
Daily Sun published her horror ordeal on 21 February, with the headline: SCARED GOGO: ‘He raped me until morning’.
Gogo's pain piles up
After she opened a rape case, the police allegedly released the man the next day and when she went to inquire, the investigating officer allegedly bought her KFC and a six-pack of beer. She was also allegedly told the man would pay her R1 000 if she dropped the charges.
However, the man has been arrested and the matter is underway in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.
Since then, gogo has suffered secondary victimisation from neighbours, who allegedly cursed her out and claimed she was a lying drunkard.
These comments saw her decide to sell her home for a new house in the area. However, she never moved into her new home because the agent had been struggling with the current occupant who refuses to leave.
She said the agent in the meantime had found her an alternative backroom, which he would be the one to pay rent until now as he finds himself unable to afford the rent.
"The [agent] says he does not have money and will no longer be able to rent. This means that any day now me and my son will be homeless and on the streets," she said.

Life turned upside down
Gogo said she hates how her life has turned upside down. She doesn't have a job, relies on a grant that can barely buy groceries or even uniform for her son.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the boy told the SunTeam how life for them is hard and that the possibility of not going back to school are high as the school has strict rules of dressing appropriately in full school uniform.
"I don't want to leave school. I want uniform. I want to go to school so I can change our lives."
He told Daily Sun how having a decent meal at home is a wish.
"The last decent meal we had was a kota," he said.
When Daily Sun contacted the agent, he confirmed that indeed he had sold gogo a house however there's a person living in it who refuses to leave.
"I have tried with my might to have her leave. I even reached out to lawyers but all of them have disappeared with my money. I'm now stranded," he said.
The agent said he felt like he was fighting an endless battle and with money slowly depleting from his pocket, his biggest concern was gogo.

NPO steps in as investigations continue
Non-profit organisation Kathorus Parliament director Pearl Mazibuko, who has been at the forefront of trying to get justice for gogo, said she was concerned about the well-being and welfare of the general public.
She called upon the citizens or any Good Samaritan to bring back gogo's "dignity and security".
Meanwhile, police spokesman Gauteng Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo advised that, "for the money she paid, she must go to the nearest police station to open a case of theft under false pretense".
Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Sello had confirmed the suspect was arrested and appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on 10 January, and that the case was postponed to 24 February.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) spokeswoman, Lizzy Suping, had previously advised gogo to reach out to the Civilian Secretariat for Police Service on 012 672 7860.
She said they’ll be able to help her with her case.
