EFF JB Marks regional members closed the main entrances from N12 road to Ikageng kasi in Potchefstroom, North West on Monday, 20 March.
So, the police had to disperse the protesters, who fled to Ikageng where the streets were also barricaded with rubble, stones, trees and other objects.
The protesters then marched to the local police station, where they were blocked by the police.
There was a confrontation with the police after the protesters wanted to cross to Potchefstroom. But the cops escorted them back to their homes.

Shops owned by foreigners were closed, but taxis were still operating with a few passengers. Clinics were also operating.
Meanwhile, North West police's joint operational and intelligence structure arrested 32 protesters in various parts of the province.
Police spokesman Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said six suspects were bust in Zeerust, seven in Wolmaranstad, 10 in Mogwase, six in Madikwe, and three in Leeudoringstad.
"All suspects were charged with contravention of Section 319 of the National Road Traffic Act Regulations of 1996 - obstructing or hindering traffic on public roads," said Mokgwabone.
