RESIDENTS are calling the big pothole in the middle of the road a “swimming pool”.
Some of the residents said the pothole in the middle of Molefe Makinta Highway in Winterveld, Tshwane, is a danger waiting to happen.
Sakkie Maseko (37) told Daily Sun he always tries to fill up the giant pothole with sand so that it doesn’t cause a serious accident.
He said that the hole keeps opening up because of the rain and is always full of water.
He said although he doesn’t own a car, he’s concerned because some vehicles get damaged and others lose control.

“A woman was hit by a car recently when a motorist was trying to avoid the pothole.
“Another car’s wheel came off after hitting the pothole,” he said.
“I am pleading with government officials to please fix this pothole.
“They should also put a speed hump on the road because children cross this road when going to school.”
Business owner Elvis Sebui (44) said they were concerned about the giant pothole.
“I wish we could also have a speed hump around that place.
“We have already had more than five hit-and-run cases in this area,” he said.
Sebui said he will have peace if the pothole is closedand a speed hump is put on the road.
Another resident, Richard Dube (56), said: “When it’s raining, the motorists come speeding not realising that there’s a big pothole.
