THE police in Northern Cape continue to clamp down on criminal activities.
On Thursday, 8 December, cops in Kimberley conducted Operation Vala Zonke after receiving a tip-off about a suspicious stock theft incident on the R357 road.
Captain Olebogeng Tawana said cops proceeded to the location and caught suspects with a bakkie loaded with suspected stolen sheep.
“The suspects directed the police to a farm where they had stolen the sheep. Six sheep, to the value of R20 000, were found in possession of the suspects, loaded in a white Ford Bantam,” Tawana said in a statement.
He added that the suspects were apprehended and charged with stock theft.
“The bakkie was also confiscated as it is believed to have been instrumental in the commission of crime. The suspects are expected to appear in the Prieska Magistrates Court soon,” he said.
