THE 24-year-old man accused of stabbing his mum to death and drinking her blood will go for mental observation.
Thabang Moswane appeared in the Koster Regional Court on Tuesday, 10 October.
Moswane was allegedly seen drinking his mum's blood after stabbing her to death in May 2022.
The case was postponed to 14 November as the accused still awaits space for a bed in order for him to be admitted to hospital.
Police were called to the horrific scene that happened in Mathopestad near Koster, North West.
It’s alleged that there was an argument between Moswane and his mother, Kedisaletse Moswane (53), which led to the tragic murder.

Moswane reportedly wanted his mother to give him R10 but when she said she didn't have money, he allegedly stabbed her.
Kedisaletse was reportedly found inside a shack with numerous stab wounds.
Moswane’s twin brother, Thabo Moswane, confirmed that he found his twin brother drinking blood from his mother’s neck stab wound.
The Moswane family said they are not interested in the matter or the court proceedings.
The deceased’s sister, Naomi Moswane, said they want Thabang to serve a lengthy sentence for the pain he caused his siblings.
“He can’t return home without being rehabilitated,” she said.
Naomi said they're still in pain and that the incident left the family traumatised.
Moswane abandoned his right to apply for bail, and he will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
