ON Tuesday, 12 September, the Koster Regional Court in the North West postponed the case against a man who allegedly stabbed his mum to death and drank her blood.

The case was postponed to 10 October for further medical assessments.

The hospital has requested that Thabang Moswane be booked for another appointment for assessment.

The 24-year-old was arrested in May.

Police were called to the horrific murder incident that happened in Mathopestad near Koster.

It’s alleged that there was an argument between Thabang and his mother, Kedisaletse Moswane, which led to the tragic murder.

The 53-year-old mum was found inside a shack with numerous stab wounds.

He was allegedly seen drinking his mum's blood after stabbing her.

Moswane allegedly stabbed his mum to death over money.

He reportedly wanted his mother to give him R10 but allegedly stabbed her when she said she did not have money.

Moswane’s twin brother, Thabo Moswane, confirmed that he found his twin brother drinking blood from the stab wound in his mother’s neck.

The deceased’s sister, Naomi Moswane, said they want Thabang to serve his deserved sentence.

“We can’t allow him back home. His siblings are still traumatised and will not be comfortable living with him knowing he killed their mother,” she said.

Naomi said the family is not interested in the court proceedings because it's painful.

She said they are waiting for the sentence.

"It will give us closure," Naomi added.
