THE death of a prominent businessman from Ledig Village outside Rustenburg in North West has sent shock waves and set social media abuzz with outrage and speculation on the circumstances of the killing.  

The well-known businessman was killed in a dramatic daylight shooting in Rustenburg on Wednesday morning, 23 August. 

The shooting incident was reported in Unie and Kock Street at a coffee shop at about 7.54 am.   

According to witnesses, the businessman was gunned down by two unknown men before they fled.

He was in a coffee shop together with his wife. Two men stepped out of a car and shot five bullets at the deceased, who was on the phone just by the entrance of the coffee shop.   

North West police spokeswoman Captain Aafje Botma said cops attended the scene in Rustenburg where a man was shot.   

“This case has not been registered yet, and his name cannot be released. He must still be identified,” said Botma.
