THE assault case against an ANC deputy secretary has been postponed by the Klerksdorp Magistrates Court on Monday, February 26.
Nomsa Melengwana is accused of allegedly assaulting 58-year-old Samuel Tsambe of Jouberton township in 2023.
It was reported that Melengwana allegedly grabbed Tsambe by his 4-5,squeezed and twisted it for 10 minutes, leaving him weak and falling to the ground.
Tsambe lost one testicle as a result. The two were allegedly fighting over an office key to a housing construction site in Jouberton.
Tsambe could not attend the court hearing as he went for his routine medical check-ups. Outside court, a group of community members who are supporting Tsambe held placards saying what happened to him must not happen to any man.
The group's leader, Poi Makoane said what Melengwana did was uncalled for.

“I am a woman and if we keep quiet as women about this, it will appear as if we like what has happened. She nearly destroyed this poor man’s manhood. We cannot allow her to get away with this,” she said.
The incident happened in November 2023 when Melengwana went to the RDP construction site in Jouberton and demanded the office keys from Tsambe, who was working as a caretaker.
At the time, Tsambe advised Melengwana that he could not give out site keys without his manager's consent. She became enraged and attacked him.
The case has been postponed to 18 March.
