A CHOLERA victim is still traumatised almost a year later.
Jacqueline Matlatle (57) from Rockville in Hammanskraal, Tshwane said cholera brought double suffering for her family.
She said she left Hammanskraal the day after her sister, Nthabiseng Legwabe (49), died on 17 May 2023 due to cholera.
The sad woman said her sister left behind two sons aged 19 and 23, who are living with a disability and need her attention.
Emotional Jacqueline shared her pain with Daily Sun, saying she doesn't even trust the water from the trucks.

"The 19-year-old still drinks the dirty water from the tap. I always have to watch him not to drink from the tap because it's not healthy. I no longer go anywhere because I have to watch him," she said.
Jacqueline said she doesn't want to lose her sister's son because of the unhealthy water.
She pleaded with the municipality and government to help them.
"This is painful. I have to leave my house to take care of my sister's sons. Both of our parents died, and I'm the remaining elder to look after them," she said.
She said life in Hammanskraal is still the same after cholera as they still don't have clean water.
