A COURT session ended in chaos after Zolile Zondo attempted to beat up one of the accused in his son’s murder case.

Nqobile Ndlovu (50) and her partner Mthunzi Zulu (39) appeared before the Protea Magistrates Court on Friday, 15 September.

They face murder charges of two mutilated Soweto boys - Nqobizitha Zulu (5) and Tshiamo Rabanye (6).

The court postponed the case to 31 October for further investigations. Both the accused remain in police custody.

Frustrated Zolile left the court with a teary face, asking why his son (Nqobizitha) was killed in that manner.

Nqobizitha’s mother, Nomthandazo Zulu, responded with teary eyes and said: “I didn’t kill my son. Why would I kill a child I was living with? I carried him in my belly."

She directed to Zolile, who said Nomthandazo knew what happened to their son.

Sobbing Zolile told Daily Sun that when his son was killed, he was in prison allegedly for a crime he didn’t commit.

"I was in jail. His mother had me arrested, alleging that I kidnapped her, all because she wanted freedom to smoke drugs.

"Nqobizitha went missing on 19 April, and his body was found on the 20th,” said Zolile.

He said he received the news about his son’s death on 22 April as he was preparing for a church service in prison.

Explaining why he reacted the way he did in court, Zolile said it was his first time seeing the accused after his son was killed.

“The people who did this are Nomthandazo’s relatives. If they wanted to hurt her or make her feel an unbearable pain, they should have done something else and not killed my son,” he added.

Ntombikayise Zondo, Nqobizitha’s gogo, said she wasn't happy with the court delays.

She said that if she could be allowed to talk to the accused, she would ask why Nqobizitha was killed.

"The accused gogo’s family is used to this because every April, someone dies from her family, so she can benefit from some sort of funeral policy," Ntombikayise said.

What angers the Zondo family is that the accused was helping the community search for the child when she knew she had allegedly killed him.
