CATHERINE Motaung (77) said when she arrived at the scene her daughter was still alive.

“I found her with a knife in her throat,” said gogo Catherine from Ga-Rankuwa Zone 16 in Tshwane.

Her daughter, Grace Motaung (53), was stabbed to death on 12 September.

Gogo Catherine said Grace had just left the house when the incident occurred.

“Grace had just left for the bus stop to go to her place. A few minutes later, someone called me to go to the bus stop.”

On her arrival, she found her daughter lying on the ground drenched in blood.

Grace’s nephew Tefo Motloba (26) said he came home to hear that his aunt had been stabbed.

He said he went to her aunt’s ex-boyfriend’s place to get answers, but his family said he wasn’t around.

“The previous day Grace and the man were arguing on the phone,” he said.

Gogo said she would use all her energy to get justice for her daughter’s death.

Police spokesman Captain Mavela Masondo said a case of murder was opened and the suspect was arrested.

“The suspect is expected to appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates Court on 7 October,” he said.
