COMMUNITY Policing Forum (CPF) members helped cops fight crime.
According to Mpumalanga police spokesman, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, members of CPF brought an alleged business robbery suspect (18) to book less than six hours after the crime was committed on Friday, 8 March.
The suspect was also found in possession of a handgun without ammunition.
Mdhluli said according to information received, a spaza shop owned by a foreign national was targeted at Thuthukani in Standerton in the early hours of Friday.
"It is said that at the time of the incident, the owner of the spaza shop was asleep in one of the rooms when he heard some strange noise outside. It is further reported that when he dashed out to inspect, three suspects accosted him. It was during this time when he was allegedly assaulted with a handgun gun and then robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash as well as two of his cellphones," said Mdhluli.
