THE police need help to trace a missing toddler.

Agang Setuke (2) from Thetele section at Mothutlong in Brits, North West is said to have disappeared on Thursday, 18 April at about 5.30pm.

According to Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Funani, the toddler's mother left the child alone in her home and accompanied her older daughter to school.

"The mother returned home and found a blanket and food she had prepared for Agang outside the house. She apparently thought the child had gone to her sister who lives not far from them," Funani said.

He said the mother then went about her daily chores.

“According to reports, the mother sent her elder daughter to her sister’s house after school to check on Agang but learnt that the child wasn't there. The mother searched for the toddler, but with no luck,” he said.

Funani said the mother then filed a missing persons report at the Mothutlong Police Station.

“A search was conducted in the vicinity of Thetele Section and Mothutlung, but this yielded no positive results. Agang was last seen wearing black tracksuit, a pink long-sleeved T-shirt and a white jersey, without shoes. She has a dark complexion,” Funani said.

Police are asking anyone with information that can help locate Agang to contact Warrant Officer Lillian Setshedi on 076 061 8175 or CrimeStop on 08600 10111. Alternatively, they can also share information via the MySAPS app on their smartphones.
