IT has been seven months since Kulani Shirinda went missing and his family is pleading with those who might have kidnapped him to release him.
The 22-year-old Central Joburg TVET College student disappeared on 26 August 2023 after he had allegedly gone out with friends.
Since his disappearance, the family said their lives have not been the same, especially for Kulani's mum.
Kulani's sister, Valeri Mavanyisi said her mum was not coping. She longs to see her son walk through the door.
Valeri told Daily Sun: “My mum lives in Limpopo with my younger brother, and I've noticed something in December when I was home that she was thinking about Kulani. She's really going through a lot.”

When Kulani went missing, he stayed and studied in Joburg.
Valerie said to this day, investigations into his disappearance have not yielded any results.
“The police are doing their job, but we're not getting anything from the private investigators. It's like we paid them for nothing. We paid almost R10 000, but we haven't received anything, no contacts or leads,” she said.
In October 2023, Daily Sun reported how out of worry, the family turned to prophets to get clarity on Kulani's whereabouts and have not stopped consulting with them.
“We've been going to churches and prophets since the incident and they keep telling us that he's alive and okay, but they're not telling us where he is,” Valerie said, and asked those with information to come forward.
Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that a case of kidnapping was opened at the Jeppe Police Station and investigations continue.
