MINISTER of Electricity, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa hosted the weekly media briefing to update Mzansi on the implementation of the Energy Action Plan.
The media briefing was held at Tshedimosetso house in Hatfield, Tshwane on Sunday, 17 September.
Ramokgopa said the issue of load shedding has a devastating impact on people's daily lived experiences.
“The point we are making is that short-term pain for long-time gain. We will begin to see results of the work we are doing over a passage of time,” he said.

He said in the last briefing, he indicated that he would be visiting Kusile Power Station.
“I made a point that Kusile presents a significant part out of load shedding. As indicated before we are hosting that great financing transmission seminar working together with the JSE,” he said.
He said on Monday, 11 September, the available capacity was at 26 332MW and as the week closed it was 27 760MW.
Ramokgopa said they are pleased to announce that unit four of Kusile Power Station that was put under planned maintenance was brought back online on Sunday.
“This milestone means generating capacity will be ramped up by 800MW into the grid, resulting in the reduction of one stage of load shedding,” he said.
He said they need to do something to resolve load shedding and Kusile sits on the critical part.
“We think we can do both, allow the temporary interventions with the attended mitigating measures and we are committing that by the end of 2024 we will restore normality,” he said.
