THE two-year-old girl, who went missing and whose body was later found in a neighbour's rubbish bin, will be laid to rest today, 10 April.

Melokuhle Ngwenya, whose body was found eaten by rats in a rubbish bin, disappeared on Wednesday, 3 April.

On the day she disappeared, her mum Zandi Ngwenya (23) from Ratanda in Heidelberg allegedly had an argument with the same neighbour who sneaked into her house through the window.

Daily Sun ran Melokuhle's story under the headline: Missing Melokuhle (2) found in makhi's dustbin

After being caught by Zandi, the neighbour, Penina Sambo jumped out of the window and fled into the neighbourhood.

She was found and confronted by Zandi to explain why she had sneaked into her home, but Penina didn't give a proper answer.

Five hours later, the toddler was found in her rubbish bin after Penina pretended to have nothing to do with Melokuhle's disappearance.

She was arrested and made brief appearance in the Heidelberg Magistrate Court on Monday, 8 April. The matter was postponed to 26 April.
