FREE State MEC for Community, Roads and Transport, Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae called on landlords to follow proper channels when they allow foreign nationals to rent tuck shops in their yards.
Letsoha-Mathae said landlords should demand proper documentations to avoid unnecessary commission of crime due to some of the foreign nationals who allegedly participate in serious crimes with no identification.
"We've noted that landlords don’t know foreign nationals who become their tenants. When the crime occurs, it's hard for cops to deal with undocumented persons. In our recent campaigns we've noticed that a majority of foreign nationals are undocumented but owni businesses in our townships," she said.

Letshoha-Mathae has welcomed the recent court outcomes that that minister of Home Affairs Dr Aaron Motsoaledi plans to deport illegal foreign nationals to their respective countries.
She was responding to Daily Sun’s questions about foreign nationals who were arrested but later acquitted.
"This will encourage police officers to work hard to clear our streets. We also encourage communities to demand documents when hiring foreign nationals who are looking after their livestock.
