THE men came twice, looking for a man they thought had stolen their clothes and TV.
The first time, the suspected thief jumped through the window and got away. The second time he wasn’t there.
But when the men came back the third time they opened fire, leaving Sinah Moalusi (89) and Christina Mokupe (28) dead on the floor.
According to the family, the men first came into their home in Ga-Rankuwa, Tshwane, on Saturday morning, 3 September, but the suspect got away.
The angry men told the suspected thief’s wife, Christina, that she should tell them where her husband was or she would be in trouble.
Later in the afternoon, the three men returned and told Lucky Moalusi (52), who is the son of mastandi Sinah Moalusi (89), what they’d do when they find the suspected thief.
Lucky told them that whatever they’d do to the tenant, they should do it somewhere else.
The three men left, but they came back on Sunday night and the family was woken up by gunshots.
The landlord’s granddaughter, Keleabetse Kotsokoane (19) said she hid under the bed.
“I heard my grandmother screaming for help after another shot,” she said.
She said the men shot two more bullets.
Lucky came out and saw the men disappearing into the streets.
That’s when they noticed that their mother and Christina were shot.
Lucky said the tenant the men were looking for has since fled, and they don’t know his whereabouts.
Gauteng police spokeswomanColonel Dimakatso Sello said: “A case of murder with two counts has been opened for further investigations after two people were shot dead in Ga-Rankuwa on 4 September.
“No suspects have been arrested. Police investigations continue.”
