ACTIONSA President Herrman Mashaba has vowed that his party will be in government in 2024.
Addressing the City of Ekurhuleni contract workers at Hermiston Hall on Thursday, 15 December, Mashaba said when ActionSa takes power it would make sure that all vacant positions were filled.
“Come 2024, we are talking about 18 months down the line. You vote us into power, immediately we come up with legislation to ensure that all cleaners and security, in fact, all jobs in the civil service are permanent so that you can enjoy the dignity of permanent employment and the benefits it provides,” he said.
He said 28 years into democracy, security guards and cleaners were still exploited by the government.
"This cannot really be. We fought against Apartheid so that we can bring a better life for all South Africans. Not a better life for a few, a better life for the majority
“I am not going to allow anyone to exploit our people in this manner. It’s not going to happen,” said Mashaba.
