HUSBAND and wife Sibusiso and Lerato Mahlangu are expected to appear in the Soshanguve Magistrates Court in Tshwane on Wednesday, 13 September.

They face charges of premeditated murder, obstruction of justice and fraud in connection with the death of Lerato's former lover, Sibusiso Sithebe.

The couple was arrested in April 2023, after the husband was found in possession of a stolen car in Hammanskraal, also in Tshwane.

His arrest brought to light shocking revelations as he had been presumed dead for more than a year.

It was reported that he had died in a fire at his RDP home in Soshanguve. Police investigation revealed that the couple had faked his death by killing Sithebe.

Their case was postponed for further investigations to be conducted and for instructions from the director of public prosecutions (DPP) to be received.
