A TRIGGER-HAPPY suspect will reappear in the Mkhuhlu Magistrates Court in Mpumalanga on Friday, 30 December.
The 45-year-old was arrested for murder, armed robbery, possession of an unlicenced firearm with ammunition as well as pointing a firearm.
He was bust on Monday for allegedly shooting and killing Aby Nginindza (40) at a tavern.
Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said Calcutta police received information about a shooting at the tavern.
“They found the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head, still alive. An ambulance was called but his family decided to take him to a hospital in an effort to save his life. He was certified dead upon arrival,” said Mohlala.
He said a murder case was opened, and the police traced the suspect to Mkhuhlu.
“During arrest, he was found in possession of a firearm with ammunition and cash, suspected to have been stolen,” he said.
Mohlala said the gun was alleged to have been used in the shooting.

“Police also discovered that the man committed an armed robbery, where cash was taken from a man. It is said this happened moments after the shooting.”
He said investigators also unearthed that the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at another man.
“The confiscated firearm will undergo ballistic testing to determine whether it was used in other crimes committed elsewhere.
“More charges could be added as the investigation continues,” said Mohlala.
