MALUTI-a-Phofung Local Municipality Chief Whip, Moeketsi Lebesa is left on the edge.
He said he has noticed signs of assassination after his submissions to the auditor-general following the R7,38 billion unauthorised, fruitless and wasteful expenditure report.
During a council meeting held on Thursday, 30 March at Kestell Multipurpose Hall in the Free State, Lebesa said he had submitted a recommendation to the council that thorough investigations and subsequent arrests should be prioritised.
Lebesa alleged that after his submissions, he received strange phone calls from and unknown woman who wanted to seduce him and strangely knew his whereabouts.
The chief whip was responding on the defeated motion of no confidence that was filed by MAP16 civic movement wherein ANC and DA councillors voted against his removal on Tuesday, 19 March.

"I'm proud that the motion of no confidence against me was not about corruption. I was accused of baseless allegations of interference on the administration. The auditor-general report clearly shows that this cash-strapped municipality has R7.38 billion unauthorised, fruitless and wasteful expenditure.
"My sin was to request a management report and recommended thorough a investigation. I have documents of unfinished projects for which millions of rands were paid. I won't fold my arms where corruption raises its ugly head. I have received strange WhatsApp messages and calls from unknown people. The different girls were sent to seduce me and later confessed why," he said.
Lebesa survived the motion of no confidence after DA and ANC councillors voted against the MAP16 motion.
Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality is ranked among the worst municipalities in the country, with a R7.5 billion debt to Eskom.
For years, the municipality has been struggling to provide water and electricity to residents.
