ETHEKWINI municipal workers were on Wednesday, 13 March, granted bail.
Thirteen workers from the eThekwini Municipality appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court, and each was granted R2 000 bail.
The group appeared on charges of public violence, tampering, damaging, or destroying essential infrastructure.
Thirteen employees were arrested last week after violent protests in eThekwini.
Their arrests came after a group of employees gathered at the municipal offices on Electron Road.
They allegedly put sand on the floor and burnt trees. They were forcing other employees out of the offices and damaged the gate.

The workers affiliated with the South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) started protesting on 27 February.
The city got an urgent court interdict against the strike, but workers ignored the order.
The National Prosecuting Authority KZN Regional Division spokeswoman Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said the charges relate to an incident that occurred on Monday, 4 March, where they allegedly blocked the road with rocks and rubbish and burned tyres and bins.
She said the state also alleges they damaged municipal bins and Durban Solid Waste (DSW) fencing.
"Bail was set at R2000 each, and the case was remanded to 10 May 2024 for further investigation," she said.
