MICHAEL Maseko, the director for labour relations in the Limpopo premier's office, is facing fraud charges.
The 59-year-old was arrested on Thursday, 18 April. He is accused of falsifying his qualifications on his CV for his October 2012 application.
The misrepresentation led to his shortlisting and subsequent appointment, resulting in over R11 million in losses for the premier's office.
Maseko appeared in the Polokwane Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 23 April, where he was granted R25 000 bail.
Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, the NPA’s Limpopo regional spokeswoman, said the case will be transferred to the Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Monday, 29 April.

His bail conditions include surrendering his passport to the investigating officer and notifying the officer of his plans to leave the province.
Ndavhe Ramakuela, the provincial government spokesman, didn't want to comment on the matter.
He emphasised the premier's office's commitment to integrity and transparency.
Lindy Wilson, the DA’s provincial spokeswoman in the office of the premier, criticised the appointment as a result of cadre deployment, highlighting neglect of vetting processes.
She argued the arrest underlined the issue of HR policies being bypassed to appoint unqualified individuals.
Conty Lebepe, national co-ordinator of the Conty Lebepe Foundation, expressed concern over the situation's impact on the provincial office's integrity and reputation, urging swift remedial action and adherence to the law.
