FAMILY, Friends and colleagues of the late veteran broadcaster, Eusebius McKaiser described him as a loving, intellectual and a kind person.

Laughter and tears were the order of the day, as each one shared their fondest memories, they shared with him.

The 44-year-old author, journalist, activist and broadcaster passed away last week after suffering a suspected epileptic seizure.

Close friend and well-known broadcaster, Redi Tlhabi told mourners that Eusebius had an “agenda” to bring change to society.

"Eusebius had an agenda, and I say that without any fear of contradiction. His agenda was to speak out for the underdog, amplify his voice against bigotry, to put himself between that fatal strike of power and corruption,” she said.

“When we say he died suddenly, there is a context and that means he was fine that morning. He was going about his business and working,” she said.

Struggling to hold back her tears, Tlhabi said McKasier loved her, and he was not afraid to tell her every time they spoke.

Mckaiser's longtime partner Nduduzo Nyanda paid tribute to McKaiser by first reading a poem for him.

He further told the mourners that as much as he loved books, he was never into poems.

Fighting off tears, Nyanda said he will miss his voice notes, miss him walking around the house, recording voice notes for somebody else.

He said he told McKaiser that he was his soul mate three months into the relationship because of how he loved him.

A colleague and friend, Karyn Maughan, described him as brilliant, kind, talented and alive.

She said she always walked away from conversations with McKaiser knowing at the end that she knew more than when they started talking.

Vukani Mde, also a friend described him as someone who saw the positive in people. And always committed to building people than breaking down.
