CONTROVERSIAL and renowned journalist, Eusebius McKaiser, has died.

The news of the 45-year-old's death broke on Tuesday afternoon, 30 May.

His manager, Jackie Strydom, told the media: “It all happened so quickly. He died earlier this afternoon in Joburg."

Eusebius was a well-known South African political analyst, journalist, and broadcaster, who wasa prolific public intellectual.

Among others, he has written for the Mail & Guardian, Sunday Times, Foreign Policy, The Guardian, New York Times, and Business Day, where he used to have a weekly column.

He has also written three books - A Bantu in My Bathroom, Could I Vote DA? and Run Racist Run.

Eusebius has presented shows on radio stations including 702 and hosted the podcast In the Mix with Eusebius McKaiser at the time of his death.
